Nedbank Draw: Chiefs Crash Out, SSU Continue Title Defence
Reigning Nedbank Cup champions will find out their semifinal final opponents on Monday after booting Kaizer Chiefs out of the competition on Saturday night.
Matsatsantsa cut it fine as the booked their spot in the last four thanks to a penalty shootout victory over the Amakhosi at FNB Stadium this weekend, reaching the last four for the third consecutive season.
Stuart Baxter’s side will be joined by Chippa United and Platinum Stars, who both grabbed 1-0 wins against Jomo Cosmos and Platinum Stars respectively, while last year’s runners-up, Orlando Pirates, needed extra time to get past Bloemfontein Celtic.
The draw for the semifinals will take place on Monday evening live on SuperSport, with the four clubs waiting anxiously to find out who stands between them and a spot in the final of the competition.
Niether Chippa nor Arrows have reached the final of the South African FA Cup in their history, whereas SuperSport have won it four times and Pirates have claimed the trophy on eight occasions over the years.
