Stuart Baxter’s team put in a special performance on Saturday night as they put four goals past Orlando Pirates to become the first team to retain the Nedbank Cup trophy, with Bradley Grobler, Jeremy Brockie and Kingston Nkhatha finding the back of the net.
As an added incentive for their players, SuperSport offered to pay for travel and accommodation as Matsatsanta’s cup winners brought along their wives, girlfriends or partners to share in the occasion.

It wasn’t just the players though, with the club also offering the same to each of their staff members as they thanked the families for their support over the course of the season.
Dominic Busschau, SuperSport’s Head of Operations, says that they make this gesture for every final as part of their ambition to make the club ‘family oriented’.
Busschau explained to the Siya crew, “We make it a standard thing for all out cup finals that partners are invited to attend because for us it’s important. You don’t play in a final every week and it’s important for all the players to share those special moments with their families.
“They are away from their families for large parts of the year and the family can’t always spend time with them. For us as a club we want it to be family oriented and this is something we do every time.”
