Siphelele Mthembu puts Kaizer Chiefs’ 4-0 win over Edu Sports in a Nedbank Cup, Last 32 match on Saturday down to coach Stuart Baxter’s instructions.
Mthembu was nominated as the ‘man of the match’ following his hat-trick on the day.
“Firstly I would like to thank God for this day,” said Mthembu after the match.
“We worked according to the instruction from the coach.”
Mthembu admits it was nice to get a start for the Amakhosi after normally making his way into the game from the bench, and welcomes the competition for places in the team.
“It’s a healthy competition, but I will keep going and trust in God and in everything we do,” added the striker.
“The coach believes in us.
“We have to work out there and win for the team.”
The striker scored all of his goals via his head and dangerous crosses into the box and Mthembu admits it is something the Amakhosi work on a lot in training.
“We all work on set pieces in training,” concluded Mthembu.
