Mosimane: Cup Games Are Tricky

Absa Premiership defending champions, Mamelodi Sundowns will on Saturday, February 21, host National First Division outfit, Thanda Royal Zulu in the last 32 of the Nedbank Cup at Loftus Stadium.

One of the most lucrative domestic cup competitions on the African continent, has already seen cup holders, Orlando Pirates dispatch minnows Tornado FC with a 4-0 scoreline on Wednesday evening, courtesy of a brace from "Bibo" Ntshumayelo and single strikes from Lennox Bacela and Sifiso Myeni.

Masandawana coach, Pitso Mosimane says they won't undermine their opponents as cup games are tricky.

He told the Siya crew that this is like the English FA Cup and anything can happen.

"This is a cup game and cup games are tricky. We have just seen their footage and they are in the top five in their league.  They are scoring goals and we are aware of that.

"We don't think about the league games now as we have to focus on this game and win it. It won't be easy but I know the players are determined to win and progress to the next round.  We are taking this game very seriously," Mosimane concluded.

Mosimane and his troops will look to keep a close eye on the free-scoring Thanda striker, Phumelele "Ace" Bhengu, who lead the goalscoring charts in the National First Division with 14 goals (12 league & 2 cup).

The match will begin at 17:30.
