Mlambo made his second appearance for Bucs, as a substitute during the 2-0 win over Ajax Cape Town in the Nedbank Cup, on Saturday evening.
The central midfielder’s first official match in Bucs’ colours, since his January move from Bidvest Wits, was against Maritzburg United in the league on February 03.
Following the win for Bucs against Ajax, Sredojevic likened Mlambo to Alonso – the retired Spaniard.

“Xola Mlambo is like Xabi Alonso. We have got a player who is going to add value to this team. And to think that he is still going to improve. We are privileged to have him,” the Serbian coach has been quoted as saying on Pirates’ official Twitter account.
Mlambo, 26, will be working on getting into Sredojevic’s starting line-ups at Bucs for their upcoming matches.
