Orlando Pirates could be at risk of suspensions for the Nedbank Cup semi-final game against Golden Arrows, should they pick up yellow cards in the match against Ajax Cape Town during the week.
The Buccaneers will be at home to Ajax in an Absa Premiership game on Wednesday evening and will be followed by a semi-final clash against Arrows at the Princess Magogo Stadium in KwaZulu-Natal on Sunday.
While Kjell Jonevret and his technical team will be without Mpho Makola for the midweek game against Ajax, there are a few players in the Bucs camp that are on three yellow cards.
Should some of them play and pick yellow cards, they will be suspended for the weekend’s cup game.
Dove Wome, Riyaad Norodien, James Okwuosa and Thembinkosi Lorch are the four Pirates players on three yellow cards each.
As confirmed by the Soweto giants, Lorch has been ruled out for the season due to a shoulder injury.
For Arrows, the players with yellow cards going into their midweek league game against Cape Town City are Danny Phiri, Kudakwashe Mahachi, Lerato Lamola, Matome Mathiane, Nkanyiso Cele, Nkosinathi Mthiyane, Nkosingiphile Gumede, Siyabonga Dube and Wayde Jooste.
