Orlando Pirates will be aiming for a win when they come up against Free State Stars in their Nedbank Cup Last 16 game this coming weekend.
Having lost 3-2 against Stars when they played an Absa Premiership game at the James Motlatsi Stadium on Saturday, the Buccaneers are getting an opportunity for revenge and to advance to the next round in the Nedbank Cup.
Speaking to the media at a press conference at the Rand Stadium earlier today, Bucs’ head coach Kjell Jonevret, says the aim for his team is to rectify the past weekend’s results.
“The spirit in the dressing room is to go and rectify this past weekend’s result and I hope that we will win when we meet them again,” said the Swedish coach as quoted on Twitter by Bucs’ media officer Thandi Merafe.
Pirates are 11th on the PSL log with 23 points. The teams below Bucs on the standings are on 22, 20 and 18 points respectively and are in relegation zone.
Jonevret says it is early to start talking about relegation.
“We need to work hard and start getting positive results in order to move up the Log, but it’s too early to start talking relegation,” the coach has been quoted.
