Defending Nedbank Cup champions, Orlando Pirates have been pitted against SuperSport United in the last 16 stages of the competition, held earlier today at the Carlton Centre in Johannesburg.
The Buccaneers will have an opportunity to avenge defeat they suffered at the hands of Matsatsantsa a Pitori, who ousted them with a 2-0 victory in this season’s Telkom Knockout Cup semi-finals.
Pirates have enjoyed a good opening to 2015, having registered two league victories against AmaZulu and Platinum Stars, as well as a convincing 4-0 drubbing over ABC Motsepe side, Tornado FC, to progress to the last 16 of the Nedbank Cup.
“We are happy with draw, " said Bucs Public Relations Head, Mickey Modisane to the Siya crew.
“Both these teams have always dished out some exciting football in the past and this time it won’t be any different.”
“Since this will be an away match for us, I employ all the Bucs faithful to accompany the team and help the boys make it to the last eight. We want to defend this trophy for the supporters and for the brand,” added Modisane.
The PSL is yet to announce the times and venues of the last 16 clashes.
