Gallants made two changes from their league draw against SuperSport United, as Tshepo Gumede and Junior Dion, who led the attack, were recalled while TTM's attack was spearheaded by Rhulani Manzini.

Bahlabane Ba Ntwa were not given time and space on the ball in the early stages and they had a casualty in the 17th minute after Dion did not recover from a lunging tackle and he was replaced by Lerato Lamola.

Dan Malesela's charges were not discouraged, as Joseph Malongoane had a chance to break the deadlock four minutes later but dragged his volley unmarked in the box wide.

The Premiership outfit were forced to retreat in the latter phase of the first stanza and Manzini came the closest to breaking the deadlock for Tshakhuma on the stroke of halftime with a dipping diagonal free-kick that rattled the crossbar.

Gallants were free flowing going forward in the early stages of the second stanza and Gumede came close to breaking the deadlock on the hour-mark with a glancing header from Celimpilo Ngema's cross that sailed slightly over the crossbar.

The visitors' pressure finally paid off four minutes later as Thato Khiba's cross took a deflection off Luvolwethu Mpeta and sailed over goalkeeper Gershin Kock.

Vhadau Vha Damani made a double attacking change with 22 minutes remaining, as Tshepo Matete and Tlou Masegela both came on for Phuti Motebejane and Rendani Ndou.

Gallants midfielder Katlego Otladisa made way for Sibusiso Kumalo with nine minutes left on the clock, but the former was given a red card after he was taken off for something he said to the referee.

Manzini had a chance to snatch a stoppage time equaliser for TTM with a free-kick from the edge of the box but his effort was blocked, as Gallants held on to book a spot in the final.
