It was Polokwane who broke the deadlock in the 14th minute, as Rendani Ndou collected a pass from the right flank before rifling the ball into the far corner.
That goal seemed to have sparked Polokwane into life and they should have increased the lead in the 23rd minute but Essau Kanyenda managed to blast over from inside the area, after being teed up by Ndou.
However, SuperSport leveled matters two minutes later, as Nkatha pounced on some dreadful errors from Maruma, before scoring a with a scuffed effort.
Nkhatha then doubled the lead in the 28th minute, as he headed home David Mathebula's cross at the near post.
It proved to be a busy first half for Marumo and he was called into action in the 36th minute, he pulled off a fine low save to deny Nkhatha a third goal.
SuperSport's lead was increased shortly after the halftime break, as Jeremy Brokie turned home Dove Wome's cross, as he kept up his fine form since joining the club.
Wome then got his name on the score-sheet in the 65th minute, the midfielder latched onto a pass from Mathebula before blasting the ball beyond Marumo.
Brockie came close to getting his second and the club's fifth in the 77th minute but his header was tipped over the bar by Marumo.
Gordon Igesund's men managed to see out the final quarter of an hour with relative ease and could have had a couple more goals but were let down by poor decision making in the box.
