Arrows Send AmaZulu Crashing Out

Nedbank Cup -Last 32
Result: AmaZulu 1-2 Golden Arrows
Date: 20 February 2015
Venue: Princess Magogo Stadium
Golden Arrows secured a spot in the Nedbank Cup Last 16 after beating AmaZulu 2-1 at the Princess Magogo Stadium on Friday night.
Bornwell Mwape gave AmaZulu the lead in the ninth minute, the midfielder did well to eliminate his marker before firing a deflected effort into the far corner.
Trevor Mathiane should have leveled matters for Arrows after 30 minutes, but the skipper placed his effort wide of the mark from six-yards out.
The Nation First Division side drew themselves level just before the halftime break, as Mabhudi Khenyeza curled home a wonderful free-kick from 20-yards out.
The opening exchanges of the second half proved to be a cagey affair, as both sides struggled to create any openings.
However, Arrows went ahead in the 73rd minute, as Roscoe Pietersen deflected Deon Hotto's in-swinging cross into his own net.
Tebogo Masaole had the opportunity to increase Arrows' advantage in the closing stages but the midfielder blasted over from close range.
Although, Asive Langwe should have leveled matters in stoppage time but the Usuthu winger placed his shot wide of the upright, as Shaun Bartlett's side went on to claim the win.
Here's how they lined up:
AmaZulu: Murambadoro, Pietersen, Hlanti, Johannes, Ouro-Akoriko, Arwuah, Ntuli, Dlamini G, Mwape, Shange, Dlamini A.
Golden Arrows: Mbaeva, Mngwengwe, Sikhakhane, Rooi, Mathiane, Sangweni, Sibeko, Masaole, Cele, Mkhize, Khenyeza
