Mamelodi Sundowns were sent crashing out of the Nedbank Cup, after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Golden Arrows on Saturday afternoon.
The Brazilians signaled their attacking early on, as the likes Thapelo Morena and Billiat clear-cut chances in the opening 15 minutes.
Arrows should have taken the lead in the 26th minute, but Sibusiso Sibeko somehow placed his effort wide of the mark from six-yards out.
Pitso Mosimane's charges were in control for most of the opening half, but they were finding it tough to break down the Arrows defence.
Arrows were certainly a threat on the counter with Kudakwashe Mahachi and Nduduzo Sibiya caused a couple problems down the respective flanks.
Nonetheless, the score remained goalless as the side entered the halftime break.
The hosts saw a lot of the ball in the opening exchanges of the second half, but were only restricted to efforts from distance.
Sundowns were then dealt a blow in the 59th minute, as Mzikiyise Mashaba was forced off with an injury. He was replaced by Themba Zwane.
Arrrows eventually broke the deadlock in the 66th minute, as Sibiya did well to dummy his marker, before firing a low effort into the far corner.
Mosimane responded by introducing Yannick Zakri replaced Anele Ngcongca in the 72nd minute, as they pushed for an equalising goal.
Sundowns pushed for an equaliser in the closing stages, while they also they introduced Leonard Castro for Teko Modise in the final five minutes.
Nonetheless, Arrows put in a solid shift defensively in the final phases half to see out the victory and send Sundowns crashing out.
