SuperSport Defender To Face Ronaldo, Out Of Nedbank Final
SuperSport United defender, Michael Boxall, will be trying to deal with Cristiano Ronaldo when his club teammates go up against Tendai Ndoro and Co.
The 28-year-old will jet out of South Africa after this weekend’s clash with Platinum Stars to team up with the New Zealand squad as the team get their Confederations Cup preparations underway.
Boxall’s nation faces the hosts, Russia, on June 17th, before going up against Mexico and Portugal, with the All Whites looking to try and manoeuvre their way out of the group stages of the competition.
So when his club teammates line up against Orlando Pirates in the Nedbank Cup final on June 24th, Boxall will be worrying about the likes of Ronaldo, Nani and Ricardo Quaresma in Saint Petersburg.
His compatriot, Jeremy Brockie, will be available for selection though, with the Kiwi striker missing out on the squad that will make the trip to Russia for the tournament.
Other than Boxall and the suspended Keegan Ritchie, Stuart Baxter will have a full team available for selection against the Buccaneers and will be hoping to retain the trophy that they won last year in his final game.
