Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach, Manqoba Mngqithi says that it is only a matter of time before everyone sees the talent of their new signing, Gaston Sirino.
The Brazilians claimed a 1-0 win over Cape Town All Stars on Friday, which saw them advance to the next round of the Nedbank Cup competition.
Uruguayan winger, Sirino played 32 minutes for the Brazilians after coming on as a substitute and speaking after the match, the Sundowns assistant coach thinks that the player is yet to showcase what he is capable of.
“We know what he is capable of, but I don’t think he has shown what he is really capable of. Maybe his condition physically is not yet at the right level. But we believed that when we play a player like him in the number 10 position it would take away some of the stress from Percy because now the focus will be on Jeremy, and Sirino and Percy would find more freedom to operate on wide challenges. And immediately it happened and they started focusing on Sirino and Brockie and that’s where we got our first goal,” Mngqithi told the media.
“But, personally, the other coaches will agree with me, from what we know and what we have seen, I don’t think we have seen enough of that boy. He has got far more to give. His defensive play is still questionable, but we believe because we know what he is capable of. It is only a matter of time…” he added.
