Mamelodi Sundowns are through to the next round of the Nedbank Cup competition and the Brazilians’ assistant coach, Manqoba Mngqithi has revealed who he would like to face in the next round.
Sundowns claimed a 1-0 win over Cape Town All Stars at the Athlone Stadium on Friday, booking their place in the round of 16 of the Nedbank Cup competition.
Speaking after the match, Coach Mngqithi revealed that it would be exciting if the Brazilians could once again come up against a team in the lower leagues, adding that it is also an opportunity for him to see some other talent.
“I think it is always nice when you have to dig deeper because it is also an opportunity for us to see some talent, so games like this are not only there for us to win but also for us to see some young talent that one must look at for the future,” he told the media.

“So personally, I would always prefer to play against the younger teams because I always want to know more players in and around the country because it is my responsibility as a coach to see some players that I think can make an impact. Maybe not at Sundowns, but in the PSL and keep tracks of such players going forward in future,” Mngqithi added.
