City And Sundowns Complain To PSL?
Mamelodi Sundowns And Cape Town City Have Believed To Have Complained To PSL
Cape Town City and Mamelodi Sundowns are believed to have complained to the Premier Soccer League about their upcoming Nedbank Cup fixture.
As confirmed yesterday, City and Sundowns will lock horns at the Cape Town Stadium in the quarter-finals of the Nedbank Cup competition on Sunday, April 01.
This fixture will be the only fixture played on the day, as the other six teams will be in action on Saturday.
However, Siya sources have revealed that both City and Sundowns have complained to the league about their fixture scheduled to take place on Sunday, as both teams will also be in action midweek.
City will face Golden Arrows on Wednesday, April 04, while Sundowns lock horns with Chippa United on the same day.
According to sources, both Sundowns and City feel that it is a disadvantage to them by being the only two teams to play on Sunday, as the likes of Chiefs, Bloemfontein Celtic and Baroka FC, who face off on Saturday, will have an extra day to recuperate for their fixtures on Wednesday.
Another thing that has been brought in to question is that Sunday, April 01, is a religious holiday known as Easter Sunday, where many of the fans and supporters will most likely have religious commitments on the day and might be unable to attend the fixture at the stadium.
Now, it remains to be seen what the PSL’s response will be to the club’s complaints and whether their fixture will be moved.
