While the 6-1 loss to SuperSport United might still be fresh in the minds of many Orlando Pirates supporters as the team will be going into the final of the Nedbank Cup, the Buccaneers could beat their Tshwane opponents to lift the trophy, according to Lucas Tlhomelang.
It was after the 6-1 loss against Matsatsantsa at the Mbombela Stadium on November 01 that Bucs’ coach at the time, Muhsin Ertugral, resigned from his duties of coaching the Soweto giants.
Tlhomelang believes that with Kjell Jonevret at the helm for Bucs, the team’s supporters could be set for the end of the season celebrations with a victory in the Nedbank Cup at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on June 24.
“For me, there is a big chance (for Pirates to beat SuperSport). We must forget that they (SuperSport) beat us (Pirates) 6-1 (in November). The new coach is proving himself and wants to be in the good books of the supporters.
“The players need to come to the party for the coach. It will be a game for the supporters and the coach to do well for the club’s supporters and make them happy. Since the new coach came in, whatever he has been doing is working for him because the team is improving. For the new coach to come in and win a cup, I think it will be a good preparation for the team for nnext season,” said Tlhomelang.
