Komphela on Castro, Ntshangase & More
Steve Komphela seems excited to see Leonardo Castro and Siphelele Ntshangase reaching their potential, admitting that they’ve got to get fit first.
The duo were both handed their first Amakhosi starts over the weekend as they played their part in Chiefs’ 3-0 victory over Golden Arrows to secure their spot in the next round of the Nedbank Cup.
With Chiefs’ supporters eager to see more of their newest signings, Komphela insists that their thirst will be quenched going forward.
He told the club’s official website, “We have to build them up to get fully match fit... They will soon be able to play 90 minutes, but that won’t happen instantly. They can only achieve that when playing competitive games.”
Meanwhile, on the game itself, Komphela was content with their progression but admitted to wanting more goals from his side.
“It was a difficult match. We struggled somewhat in the first half, but the second half was better. It was a good performance from all our players, even though we could have scored one or two more and made it five.”
Chiefs now face Cape Town City as they try to close the gap on Mamelodi Sundowns this weekend.
