The final of the competition took place on Saturday, June 24, which was Head Coach Baxter’s final match at the helm of the Matsatsantsa bench, guiding a side who were eager to defend the Nedbank trophy and give the Englishman a memorable send-off.

The Tshwane giants faced an Orlando Pirates side who were desperate to clinch the trophy after a disappointing 2016/17 season.
