Amakhosi Injuries: Duo In Doubt For Nedbank
Kaizer Chiefs Have Worries Over George Maluleka & Leonardo Castro
Kaizer Chiefs may well have to do without key players for the Nedbank Cup this weekend, with a duo nursing injury problems.
George Maluleka missed the Soweto Derby last weekend due to an ankle injury, and while Leonardo Castro played – and scored – in that game, he’s got an issue with his foot.
Chiefs take on Stellenbosch FC on Saturday evening for a spot in the next round of the Nedbank Cup, but it seems unlikely that Steve Komphela will have a full squad to work with.
On their official website, the club quoted their medical team as saying, “Mido is nursing an ankle injury which also kept him on the sidelines for the Soweto Derby on Saturday.”
They went on to add, “George ‘Mido’ Maluleka is training in the gym under the watchful eye of the medical team. As a measure of precaution, Leonardo Castro was also training in the gym on Tuesday morning, as ‘Leo’ felt a slight pain in his foot.”
Chiefs host Stellenbosch in Durban at 20h15 on Saturday night.
