Ertugral Congratulates Pirates After Nedbank Cup Exit

It wasn’t a welcome return to the Orlando Stadium for Muhsin Ertugral, who watched his Ajax Cape Town side go down 2-0 to Orlando Pirates.
A brace from Bernard Morrison steered the Sea Robbers in the next round of the Nedbank Cup as they become the eight team into the draw for the last 16.
Ertugral believes that his former club was brilliant particularly in the second stanza, but believes they had them under complete control in the opening sequence.
“Congratulations to Pirates. Second half they were marvelous and brilliant. But I think the first 20 minutes, we had them completely under control. They had nowhere to go. We blocked them very well," Ertugral told SuperSport after the game.
“What happened then? The possibility of 200 goal chances and if one goes in, it’s a completely different game.
“Unfortunately, this kind of games when you concede one, then you need to open up tactically and obviously from that opening, they got the second one immediately after the break,” he explained during a post-match interview after the game.
The Urban Warriors are currently embroiled in a demotion tussle, and whether this result will put them on the back foot to beat the drop is not the case according to the Turk.
“I don’t think so. The important thing is that you need to bury your chances. We are a team that’s got a certain degree of possibilities," he added.
“We changed the team a lot tonight and gave others the opportunity. But I think first half I’m happy what I saw,” he said.
