Two of South African football’s legends have given their predictions for the Nedbank Cup between Kaizer Chiefs and TS Galaxy at the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban tomorrow night.
It was pretty unanimous – Doctor Khumalo and Jerry Sikhosana agreeing that Amakhosi will be victories, though they still think the Glamour Boys have their work cut out if they are to return to the top of the football ladder next season given their recent struggles.

“I will say it, even though I know people will be surprised, but Chiefs will take it. This is a club that made me who I am and I used to celebrate between three or five trophies a year with them,” Khumalo, an Amakhosi and Bafana Bafana legend told the Siya crew at a Nedbank Cup Football Forum in Durban ahead of tomorrow’s match.
“Obviously winning the cup will not make up for missing the Top Eight this past season, but maybe it’s a start.”
Sikhosana, a coach of the Nedbank Ke Yona Team search this year and an ex-Orlando Pirates striker, also picked Chiefs.
“Ernst Middendorp (Chiefs coach) will be unpredictable with his attacking transitions and we know Dan Malesela (Galaxy coach) will thrill us with his typical SA style of play,” said Sikhosana.
“But I would love to see Chiefs win so that my boys get to face them once the team is announced.” Nedbank Cup winners play a once-off game annually against the Ke Yona team.
