Despite losing 3-0 to Kaizer Chiefs in the Nedbank Cup last 32 at the FNB Stadium on Sunday, the fact that Itumeleng Khune won the man of the match award suggests the influence they had on the game.

“Where do I start? Not many chances from Chiefs in the first half apart from a free-kick that went over our goal and that was it," Larsen told SuperSport after the game.

“I thought we had some good entries in the first half and didn’t capitalize on that. So it was fairly eve in the first half."

It must be noted that defensively they were all over the place, which contributed to two of the three strikes from the Glamour Boys.

“In the second half, they scored from a defensive error where (Lehlohonolo) Nonyane got injured on the corner flag and couldn’t recover in time to stop (Willard) Katsande to provide them the opportunity to score and which they did.

“The second goal was just calamities defending, what can you say? Two players going for the same ball and they scored. But we had some good chances. Khune getting the man of the match says a lot.

“I don’t think the score-line is a true reflection of the game. We gave the youngsters the opportunity and they didn’t disappoint,” he said.
