Chiefs Crowd Behaviour To Cost At Least R200 000?

By Soccer Laduma - Apr 22, 2018 10:17 AM

Kaizer Chiefs supporters invaded the pitch after the Nedbank Cup defeat on Saturday, just days after the club were punished for their supporters misbehaving at the FNB Stadium earlier in the month.

The Premier Soccer League confirmed earlier this week that Chiefs were fined R250 000.00 after their supporters threw objects on the pitch following the loss to Chippa United.

R200 000.00 of the fine was suspended for 24 months on condition that the club are not found guilty of a similar offence during that period, according to the PSL's ruling.

However, Chiefs invaded the pitch at Moses Mabhida Stadium at the full-time whistle, forcing players and coaches of both team to run the down the tunnel.

Supporters were seen damaging stadium property, while SuperSport also had their equipment damaged in the process.

Orlando Pirates, meanwhile, were ordered to play two games behind close doors earlier this week after they were found guilty for crowd violence.

According to the PSL's previous ruling, Chiefs would be expected to pay the R200 000.00,

However, it remains to be seen if the PSL will hand down another punsihment to the AmaKhosi.

We can blame chiefs fans but any team who were in this situation it was going to happen eg. Pirate/Sundowns and non of this shouldn't have happened if management respect fans request/wishes. Bobby is the one who destroyed this team and he did not played for any team and he does not have knowledge of soccer addlist Kaizer Junior might be better. U see if u a angry u can't think right u can hurt someone without thinking that will backfire on like being arrested, that is why we see two partners when one find out the one is cheating try to kill each other or themself failing to think of resolving your situation but my point is yes chiefs fans were wrong I'm not making excuses for them they should have stay away from chiefs games buy not going on stadiums but just because they can die for this team they always go. The one we should be put a blamed on is chiefs management which does listen to ppl's complains and suggestions for their team not family only because chiefs is big because of fans.

What is R2000000 to his Chiefs , they should be fined far more than that. People's lives are at stake and to protect the coach and useless players is unforgivable!!!! What is the club saying now? Khompela is gone and they have a case against them for what happened at Moses Mabhida.

They sure can afford to pay this amount and even more, after all this is of their own doing... They have been watching the club performing below par for the past three seasons without making an effort to arrest the below par performance of the team.. Hence the supporters taking matters into their own hands... The management should remember that chiefs is a big brand and to see it going down like it has done on the past three seasons has been a painful experience!!!!!

This amount is too small, maybe R20m would have done the difference.

@Theemba M , Fair enough,as long as it punishes Bobby Motaung for undermining Chiefs supporters,we told him to sign quality players long ago before we reach crisis point, indeed the Chiefs engine is on fire,Bobby didn't check the thermostat after taking a Mercedes Benz to a bush mechanic (Steve). Berlusconi did the same at AC Milan, where is Milan today?
