City Striker To Make Return For Pirates?
Cape Town City Given A Boost With Striker Return
One of Cape Town City’s strikers could make a return to Head Coach Benni McCarthy’s side as he prepares his charges for a must-win encounter against Orlando Pirates.
The Citizens will face off with the Buccaneers at the Cape Town Stadium on Wednesday, March 14, in the round of 16 of the Nedbank Cup competition, with both sides vying for silverware this season.
The Mother City-based club will go into the encounter off the back of two consecutive wins, one in the Absa Premiership and the other in their CAF Confederation Cup competition.
With McCarthy’s side digging deep to find goals, having recently netted two goals against Chippa United in their league clash, the Citizens will be happy to welcome Matthew Rusike back to the squad, after the player sustained an injury against Bidvest Wits last month.
The club has since confirmed that the player has made a full recovery.
Now, it remains to be seen whether Rusike will be fit to be included in McCarthy's matchday squad to face Pirates on Wednesday.
