An own goal from Tumelo Tlou and a brace from Joel Mogorosi handed Bloemfontein Celtic a 3-0 win over Roses United in a Nedbank Cup, Last 32 match at the Free State Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
It was good start to the game by Celtic who took the lead as early as the third minute when Tlou turned a low left wing cross from Mogorosi into his own net, 1-0.
Mogorosi then doubled the Phunya Sele Sele’s lead in the 21st minute when he latched onto a long ball from the back by Bongani Mphandle and proceeded to chip the onrushing goalkeeper, 2-0.
Celtic controlled the remainder of the half, but failed to add to the scoreline before the break.
Frank Mhango should have found Celtic’s third four minutes after the restart when he met a right wing cross, but he fluffed his shot from six-yards out under no pressure.
In the 57th minute Mogorosi did find the back of the net when he was put through on goal by Mhango, but it was disallowed because he was adjudged off-sides, wrongly so.
Ten minutes later Tshepo Rikhotso came close for Celtic again when he met a right-sided free-kick with a strong header, but his effort struck the side-netting.
Mogorosi put the icing on the cake for Celtic with thier third goal in the 91st minute after superb 22-yard strike, 3-0.
