Cape Town City midfielder Thabo Nodada was full of praise for his teammates following their 1-0 win over Maritzburg United in a MTN8 quarter-final on Sunday.
A single goal from Keanu Cupido on the stroke of half time was the difference between the two sides, but Nodada was instrumental in side’s success after his high work-rate and passing from the midfield.
Consequently, Nodada was handed the ‘man of the match’ award, but he was quick to praise both the opposition on the day and his teammates.
“It was very difficult today against Maritzburg, they are a very competitive side and they never give up,” said Nodada.
“For them coming from two loses and from us coming from a loss I knew it was going to be a difficult game from both sides, but the boys pulled through.
“Everybody worked for the team and we got the result.
“We are happy to be in the next round.
“My team worked extremely hard today and we deserved this.
“We are very happy with today.”
