Amakhosi Coach Highlights Chiefs’ Failings
Kaizer Chiefs’ head coach, Giovanni Solinas, has identified the aspects of their game that they need to improve upon if they’re to beat his former side this evening.
The Glamour Boys come up against Free State Stars at 18h00 this evening as they try to book their place in the semi-finals of the MTN8 competition for the first time since Steve Komphela’s first season in charge, but will need to perform better if they are to do so.
Chiefs drew their opening game of the 2018/19 Absa Premiership season to Mamelodi Sundowns in a promising display, however, were then well beaten by Bidvest Wits just a few days later as they plummeted down the table.
Now, as Solinas looks to try and avoid a third game without a win at the start of his Amakhosi tenure, he says that they want to play dominating football going forward.
Speaking to the club’s official website, the Italian said, “We want to play offensive football and try to dominate the game. We have to work as well on our defensive and offensive game, as we need to improve on our finishing.
“It takes time to implement our philosophy of football. We need to be patient. We will get there and I feel positive about the future.”
Chiefs and Stars lock horns at FNB Stadium tonight, with Solinas taking on his former employers for the first time.
