The two sides, who are no strangers to each other in the competition, locked horns in the cup final last year, with SuperSport being crowned MTN8 champions on the day.
Speaking ahead of the crucial encounter, Mateo Manousakis, who is City’s mascot and the son of the assistant coach, Vasili Manousakis, said that he would like to see Ayanda Patosi score the winning goal for the Citizens on Saturday, 29 September.
“My prediction is a 0-2 win, both goals by Patosi. If we manage to win it I want to take it to my school to celebrate,” Mateo said in the MTN8 press conference today.
The assistant coach went on to praise Head Coach Benni McCarthy, “Through coach Benni, we have become serial winners. We want to win this and reward our fans who will make the long trip up to Durban!” Manousakis added.
