Soccer Laduma picks the six best and four worst performers following Bidvest Wits' 2-1 win over Orlando Pirates.
Best:
Thulani Hlatshwayo: The Wits skipper led by example, as he was a constant threat from set-pieces and also popped up with the winning goal. While, he was also solid defensively.
Thabo Matlaba: The Pirates full-back hardly got forward, but it was his defensive work that impressed, as he managed to restrict Daine Klate on numerous occasions
Xola Mlambo: Deservedly got the Man of the Match award, as he ran the game from the middle of park. Although, his match ended on a poor note after getting sent off.
Thabang Monare: Alongside Mlambo, Monare was key in helping Wits dominate the possession statistics, while he was unlucky not to get on the score-sheet in the second half.
Buhle Mkhwanazi: The Wits defender put in a solid performance in the at the back, while he was a real threat on the offensive end, as he also bagged his side's equaliser.
Gabadinho Mhango: Deployed on the flanks once again, but he worked tirelessly down the left and helped his the Buccaneers retain possession throughout the encounter.
Worst:
Riyaad Norodien: Handed his first official start for the Pirates, but he offered nothing going forward and was substituted at halftime.
Thabo Rakhale: Similarly to Norodien, Rakhale struggled to carve out any openings for the Buccaneers and he was replaced by Thabiso Kutumela at halftime.
Ngele: Made his first start for the Clever Boys, but struggled to stamp his authority on the game and he was eventually replaced just before the hour mark.
Felipe Ovono: The Pirates goalkeeper had a night to forget, as his two handling errors led to two goals for Wits. While, he struggled to deal with corners and set-pieces for most of the match.
