Anele Ngcongca's PSL debut might be delayed for a week after the new Mamelodi Sundowns right back suffered a minor knee injury in training on Wednesday.
The Bafana Bafana right back signed a three-year contract with Sundowns, with a one-year option, on transfer deadline day, having had his contract with Belgian outfit KRC Genk mutually terminated.
The 28-year-old left National First Division side FC Fortune in 2007 and spent nine years in Europe, before returning home to sign with the current PSL champions, mentored by coach Pitso Mosimane.
Ngcongca is not registered for the CAF Champions League and was scheduled to make his debut for the club in the first leg of the MTN8 semi-final against Chippa United. However, after suffering a minor knee injury at training, it looks like the player's long-awaited debut will be delayed for another week.
After the first leg of the semi-final, Sundowns' next match is away to Maritzburg United in the Absa Premiership on Wednesday next week.
