Now into their third week of training, SuperSport United are nearing match fitness and are almost ready to resume the 2019/20 season, according to their captain Ronwen Williams.
Last week SuperSport confirmed that they welcomed back two players to training, while a third is still in isolation after contracting COVID-19.
The Tshwane giants, who have been putting in the work at their Megawatt training base, also gave an update on their readiness to resume the current Absa Premiership season, which has been penned down for August 1.
“All the fitness testing has been concluded and I’m happy to say that most, if not all the guys, are looking very good, we been focusing more on team play, 11 v 11 to get us match ready.
“The guys are getting stronger and sharper by the day and getting much needed confidence and minutes in our 11 v 11 matches,” Williams said speaking to the club’s official website.
SuperSport currently sit in third position, eight points adrift of log leaders Kaizer Chiefs, with six matches left to play.
