Bafana Bafana are set to face France in a high-profile friendly match which is scheduled for March.
With Bafana set to prepare for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers which are scheduled to take place in June, the team’s head coach Hugo Broos is aiming to have as many competitive matches as possible to prepare for the qualifiers.
Bafana haven’t played since their disappointment of failing to proceed to the last round of the 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifiers in November.
The South African senior national team last played France 11 years ago during the 2010 World Cup match which the local side won at Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein.
The news of Bafana’s match against the reigning world champions has been confirmed by SAFA’s Dominic Chimhavi.
“Yes, Bafana will be playing against France and the match will be in March. It will be played in France,” confirmed the SAFA's head of communications.
