The former Absa Premiership coach took up the post in East Africa earlier this year, after his exit from Black Leopards.

Due to these unscrupulous and athletic statements, the leadership of the Yanga Club have decided to fire Coach Luc Eymael from today 27 July 2020 and make sure he leaves the country as soon as possible. The leadership apologizes to the country's leaders, the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF), members, lovers and fans of Yanga, as well as the general public due to the offensive and insulting statements made by Coach Luc Eymael. Yanga Club values and believes in the principles of discipline and dignity, and opposes any form of discrimination.

Contacted for comment, the former Polokwane City and Free State Stars coach told the Siya crew that he was still to hear from the club about his sacking.

“I cannot comment for now because until now I haven’t received anything from the club. But I apologised already on my Facebook and on Instagram. But I know why I did that, it was a journalist who was harassing me on Wednesday after the game and I didn’t want to comment. He was insisting and made me nervous and I told him that he was a fan of Simba. I sent him a voice note and it only came out yesterday (Sunday). Why yesterday and not on Wednesday or Thursday? But it’s okay,” said Eymael.
