Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane has looked back with pride after another one of the club’s youth product was promoted to the first team and has subsequently addressed the criticism over buying players.
The Brazilians announced at the weekend that Malebogo Modise, 21, had now graduated to the senior team and immediately joined the team at their Rustenburg base to prepare for the restart of the 2019/20 season.

Premier Soccer League chairman Irvin Khoza has confirmed the special dispensation to allow players from the reserve team to be registered for the balance of the campaign to cover the possible unavailability of first team regulars due to the Coronavirus, a pandemic that halted football back in mid-March.
Modise could get his debut sooner rather than later.
“He follows the path of Keletso (Makgalwa), Percy Tau, (Motjeka) Madisha, (Siphelele) Mkhulise, Abram (Ngcobo) the goalkeeper and Nico Lukhubeni at right-back. There is also Harold (Majadibodu), we can mention more,” said Mosimane in talking up the versatile Modise, who is nicknamed ‘Bale’.

“They are coming up – sometimes we get criticism because we buy players. It’s like we are not promoting players. And these players that I have been talking about, one (Tau) is overseas. Some have even played in the CAF Champions League, so in that space we are doing very well. We can proudly say we are producing players from the youth, from our MDC.”
