Chippa United have announced the signing of former Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates midfielder Oupa Manyisa.
The Siya crew reported on Monday that Manyisa would be penning a short-term deal with the Eastern Cape based outfit and the club has now confirmed that the 32-year-old, who has been in a financial dispute with Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila, has signed a contract until the end of the season, with an option to extend for a year.
Chippa coach Dan Malesela expressed his excitement following the announcement of the former Pirates skipper.
“I am elated to have the player of Oupa’s talent and experience joining us, where he will play an intergral role in this team as we head to the last stretch of the season with the league and the Nedbank Cup. We do have a tough schedule with back-to-back fixtures and we are aiming at finishing strong in our remaining games.”
The player started training with the club on Tuesday and could be ready to feature for the Chilli Boys in their next match against Maritzburg United this Sunday.
Manyisa arrived in Eastern Cape towards the end of last week to see if he would be able to fit in and to ensure that all the parties were happy, which led to the final decision of him signing a deal.
