Midfielder Finally Free To Leave Sundowns

It’s been confirmed to the Siya crew that a Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder will be free to leave the club at the end of the season.

As reported over the past weeks, Sundowns were set to make an important decision on the long-term future of Lucky Mohomi, whose contract comes to an end on June 30, though the club had an added one-year option set in place.

Sources have since revealed to the Siya crew that the Brazilians have officially opted against exercising the added option on the player’s deal and he will finally be free to join any interested suitor in the new 2020/21 campaign. 

However, with the 2019/20 season set to run beyond June 30, the source added that Mohomi will remain at the Chloorkop-based club until whichever time the campaign is officially concluded.

The Premier Soccer League is yet communicate the way forward for the season, this after several meetings over the past few weeks.

Should it be safe for football to return during the COVID-19 pandemic, indications are that it the season will likely resume by July 01, however, nothing is certain as yet.

In the meantime, Mohomi is expected to remain at Sundowns even beyond June 30, this until the club decides otherwise.
