Interest is growing in an Ivorian Marumo Gallants’ striker from clubs in the DStv Premiership, the Siya crew has been informed.
Despite being disrupted by injury, Sede Junior Dion has done well in his first season in Mzansi to help Gallants reach the final of the Nedbank Cup.
The 28-year-old has scored three goals from four games in the prestigious competition as they await to face Mamelodi Sundowns in the final on May 28.
The bulky forward’s first two goals in the competition were in the 2-0 victory over Santos in the Last 32, while the other one was in the 1-0 win over Baroka in the quarter-finals.
In the Limpopo team’s league campaign, Dion has featured in 18 matches and has scored two goals.
While playing in Botswana for Jwaneng Galaxy FC before joining Gallants, Dion was linked with Orlando Pirates after impressing the Soweto giants with his exploits in the CAF Confederation Cup last year.
However, the suspension of the league in Botswana at the time put paid to his chances of joining the Buccaneers.
“Sede Junior Dion has done well in his first season in the PSL despite being disrupted by injury and some clubs have taken note. Pirates are still following the player’s progress like they had been doing when he was playing in Botswana and so far, have been impressed with the work-rate,” said the source.
“There are a few other clubs in the league that are showing interest in the boy but it’s better not to reveal the names at the moment so as to not distract the player on his progress until the end of the season,” the source added.
