Vela Khumalo, head coach of the Kaizer Chiefs reserve team has given his thoughts on Mfundo ‘Obrigado’ Vilakazi who made his debut for the club this weekend.
Vilakazi signed with the Amakhosi reserves two weeks ago, with the club managing to fend off interest from Sekhukhune United in his services.
The teenager didn’t take long to make his impact felt in a Chiefs jersey.
After being introduced as a second half substitute with Chiefs in control of the match, the left-footed youngster had some decent touches and wasted no time in getting onto the scoresheet after tapping home into an empty net.
After the match, Khumalo was full of praise for his young side who managed to trump the Chilli Boys 4-1, reserving special praise for the debutant.
“One of the highlights of the game was 15-year-old Vilakazi scoring the goal at the end of the game,” Khumalo told the club’s official website after the game.
“Another highlight of the game was us also getting our defending on point. We defended properly today,” said Khumalo.
The Chiefs reserve side have now netted four goals in three consecutive matches as they look to finish the 2021/22 season on a high.
