Mamelodi Sundowns honoured Motjeka Madisha in style as Gift Motupa made his debut, while Gaston Sirino and Lebohang Maboe bagged their first goals of the season.
Sundowns opened up a five-point lead at the top of the DSTV Premiership standings with a 2-0 win over Chippa United at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, a day after Madisha’s family confirmed his passing in a statement released by Masandawana.

It was the perfect score to honour Madisha, who wore the jersey number two for the club. Sundowns honoured Madisha with t-shirts with the words Robala ka khutso (Rest in peace) and armbands with the number two on them.
Maboe and Sirino, who were both set-up by the in-form Peter Shalulile, got their first goals of the season in this victory as Sundowns registered a second straight victory, after their three draws in a row before that.

It was a game in which Motupa finally made his debut for Sundowns after joining them from Bidvest Wits before the start of this season. Motupa was involved in a car accident in November and returned to training in January and will be looking to get more opportunities after coming on as a substitute against the Chilli Boys.
