Rest In Peace Anele Ngcongca!

It is with great sadness that Soccer Laduma has learnt about the passing of Mamelodi Sundowns defender Anele Ngcongca, with a source close to the player confirming the news.

A source, who's opted to remain anonymous, confirmed the devastating news that Ngcongca passed away tragically in a car accident in KwaZulu-Natal in the early hours of Monday morning.

However, an official statement is yet to be released by the authorities.

Ngcongca has been in Durban since last week to join AmaZulu on loan from Sundowns. The 33-year-old could have been unveiled at Usuthu last week already, however, the unveiling was delayed due to the fact that the team had a match against his parent club Sundowns on Sunday, with sources indicating that as part of the loan agreement the experienced right-back was not allowed to play against the Brazilians.

Following Usuthu’s 4-3 loss against Sundowns on Sunday, the former Genk and Bafana Bafana player was expected to be unveiled this week.

Soccer Laduma sends condolences to family and friends of the departed star and all those affected by his passing.
