There’s a total of nine Kaizer Chiefs who will not be going to the Africa Cup of Nations following some of the decisive results over the weekend.

Of course most of them are Bafana Bafana players, who will be disappointed that the national team failed to get a single point out in Sudan, when all they needed to do was to avoid defeat to be part of the continental showpiece next year.
Amakhosi had five players on national duty this weekend and all of them will not be playing at the Afcon, though some who are eligible for the Olympics could still be heading to Tokyo if selected by David Notoane in the coming months.
It’s not all doom and gloom, the like of Daniel Akpeyi and Khama Billiat saw their respective countries book a ticket to the Afcon in Cameroon – the goalkeeper will be hoping for one last chance with Nigeria, though he was not selected this month.
Billiat missed out on seeing Zimbabwe qualify for another showpiece because he is currently still recovering from injury, but he is one of their key players.
