Sparks are expected to fly when Kaizer Chiefs visit Cape Town City for the Telkom Knockout last 16 encounter on Saturday afternoon at Cape Town Stadium.

The match is scheduled to start at 15h00.

Amakhosi are in hot form, as they come into the clash on a three-game winning streak, the last of which was a 2-0 win over Golden Arrows a week before the FIFA break .

Chiefs' four-year trophy drought will motivate them to go all the way. Amakhosi are the most successful side in the competition with a record 13 league cup titles.

Meanwhile, the Citizens last won the competition in 2016 under the guidance of former coach Eric Tinkler in their debut campaign of existence in 2016.

On current form though, Benni McCarthy’s charges are going through a rough patch, as they are winless in their last seven matches in all competitions.

City's last outing was a 2-1 loss to AmaZulu a week before the international break and they will be out to get revenge against Amakhosi, after going down 2-1 to Ernst Middendorp’s troops at the end of August in the league at Newlands Stadium.
