Date: 25 November 2018
Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium
Baroka FC will be eyeing another upset when they host defending champions Bidvest Wits in the Telkom Knockout semi-finals on Sunday afternoon at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The match will get underway at 15h00.
Bakgaga got to the semi-finals of the tournament after dispatching Golden Arrows and Mamelodi Sundowns both by the 2-0 scoreline in the last 16 and quarter-finals respectively, with both wins coming on home soil.
This is only Bakgaga’s third appearance in the Telkom Knockout and they have a golden chance to reach the final for the first time in their history. Reaching the semi-finals of the tournament represents their best showing to date.
Gavin Hunt’s charges dug deep to make it in the semi-finals after playing away in both their last 16 and quarter-finals against Free State Stars and Maritzburg United respectively.
The Clever Boys have won the League Cup three times and will be looking to become only the second team after Kaizer Chiefs to win the Telkom Knockout back-to-back.
The two sides will be meeting for the second time in the Telkom Knockout, last season Wits dumped Bakgaga at the quarter-final stage with a 1-0 win thanks to a goal by Egyptian forward Amr Gamal.
