Shell Helix Cup

Teams: Kaizer Chiefs v Mamelodi Sundowns

Date: 21 July 2018

Venue: FNB Stadium

Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns will lock horns in the inaugural Shell Helix Ultra Cup  at the FNB Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The match is scheduled to get underway at 15h00.

With the new season barely a few weeks away, the two teams will be fine-tuning their preparations in earnest.

Amakhosi have been relatively quiet in the market but hogged the headlines when they signed Khama Billiat, who made his debut in the Maize Cup final last weekend along with  Virgil Vries and Letlhogonolo Mirwa.

The Glamour Boys also finally announced their new coach Giovanni Solinas, although he won't be on the bench this afternoon as he waits for his work permit.

On the other hand, the Brazilians have been hard at work as they were involved in the CAF Champions League.

Pitso Mosimane’s charges went down 1-0 to AS Togo-Port in Togo on Tuesday in the CAF Champions League match, leaving Masandawana bottom of the group after three matches.

Mosimane will have a chance to test out new signings including Andile Jali, Toni Silva, Jose Ali Meza and Lyle Lakay ahead of their second meeting with AS Togo-Port next Friday.

The Brazilians will be without 2017/18 PSL Footballer of the Season Percy Tau, who joined English Premier League side Brighton and Hove Albion.

Here's how they line up:

Chiefs: Khune, Mphahlele, Cardoso, Mathoho, Mirwa, Katsande, Ekstein, Tshabalala, Billiat, Castro Paez.

Subs: Vries, Bvuma, Petersen, Moleko, Hadebe, Ngezana, Zulu, Mahlasela, Jayiya, Molangoane, Parker, Moon.

Sundowns: Mweene, Morena, Lakay, Bangaly, Madisha, Mohomi, Mkhulise, Manyisa, Brockie, Sirino, Laffor.

Subs: Ngobeni, Silva, Arendse, Zulu, Malajila, Otladisa, Sekotlong, Ngcongca, Lebese.

The difference between Sundowns and Chiefs in Shell Helix Cup was that Sundowns already playing competitive football in the Car champions league and Chiefs still on pre season, further not bad for Chiefs relax Khosi Nation prophets of doom will eat their humble pie. Rise Khosi rise

Ekstein needs a good coach and he is our next Jabu Pule. He is a great talent. The only problem with Chiefs right now is finding the right coach for the material that we have. We have the best material, no coach. Maybe Chiefs should have thought about Gavin Hunt. Has won trophies with teams that do not have the great support like Chiefs. Chiefs would have been a good stage Hunt wants. Believe me, i am not convinced with Mr Bean Solinas.

Sometimes when is bad they need to play their own ball that they know, not playing only what coaches have instructed them to do, cause they will saying, Katsande has loss ball just because of coaches instructions, hell no, kak man
