2015 Nedbank Cup
Last 32
Teams: Mainstay United V Ajax Cape Town
Date: 22 February 2015
Venue: GWK Stadium
Mainstay United will be looking to cause an upset when they host Ajax Cape Town in a Nedbank Cup, Last 32 match at the GWK Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
The Match is scheduled to get underway at 15h00.
Mainstay play their football in the ABC Motsepe League and this will be their second year in the Nedbank Cup after debuting in 2014.
The side from the Northern Cape, though, will want to forget their 2014 debut after they were thrashed 8-3 by African Warriors in last year’s competition.
Their coach, coach Galiel Peluan insists that this year’s tournament will be a better outing for Mainstay after he has improved as a coach through the Carling Black Label Coach the Coaches programme.
“It will be my second time participating in the Nedbank Cup tournament after we were knocked out in the first round last year. However, the difference this time around is that I am a better coach,” said Peluan.
“The Carling Black Label Coach the Coaches course has incredibly broadened my coaching abilities to such a point that it has rubbed off onto my players.
“My goal is to do well in the competition and make my community proud. The task ahead will not be easy but I believe that my team will show character.”
Ajax, on the other hand, insist they will not underestimate their opposition and plan on taking the game very seriously.
“It’s a very tough draw and we will not take the lightly,” said Urban Warrior defender Mosa Lebusa.
“It is tough in a sense that we know absolutely nothing about them, and they pretty much know a lot about us.
“We are going there to play like we have been playing up to now.”
Here is how they line up.
Mainstay United: Ramatsa, Ross, Vosloo, Van Wyk, Swartz, Mopharing, Matthys, Jonkers, Boer, Thabang, Buthelezi.
Ajax Cape Town: February, Mobara, Isaacs, Coetzee, Lebusa, Graham, E. Isaacs, Losper, Lolo, Mzwakali, Cale.
