Nedbank Cup

Teams: Baroka v Steenberg United

Date: 10 March 2018

Venue: Peter Mokaba Stadium

Baroka FC will be pushing for a spot in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinals when they clash with third-tier side Steenberg United in the Nedbank Cup last 16 on Saturday afternoon at the Peter Mokaba Stadium.
The match is scheduled to get underway at 15h30.
Bakgaga have parted ways head coach Kgoloko Thobejane, who was initially placed on suspension pending a disciplinary hearing about alleged misconduct.
MacDonald Makhubedu will be in charge of the team until the end of the season. The Limpopo-based side also parted company with captain Olaleng Shaku and goalkeeper Oscarine Masuluke after the pair were also found guilty of breaking the club's rules.
On the pitch, Baroka have not been really affected as Makhubedu was in charge when they beat Platinum Stars 1-0 in the last 32 round of the competition last month and also oversaw an impressive 2-0 victory over Cape Town City in the league before drawing 1-1 with Bidvest Wits the last time out in the Absa Premiership.
Steenberg, who are campaigning in the ABC Motsepe League in the Western Cape region, will have an element of surprise as they are a closed book.
The Mother City club beat fellow lower league side Orbit College 3-1 in the last round of the competition last month and will be eager to impress.
Mike Lukhubene's charges will want to emulate the giant killing act of Baroka who reached the semi-finals of the competition in 2011 while still participating in the third-tier league when it was still known as the Vodacom League.
