Starting XI: Celtic v Chiefs
Macufe Cup Starting XI: Celtic v Chiefs 08 October 2017
Teams: Bloemfontein Celtic v Kaizer Chiefs
Date: 08 October 2017
Venue: Free State Stadium
Bloemfontein Celtic take on Kaizer Chiefs in the annual Macufe Cup at the Free State Stadium.
The match is scheduled to get underway at 15h00.
The two teams in action today will have welcomed the international break and will use it as an opportunity to sharpen the teams’ respective fitness levels and fine-tune tactics before the return of the league.
Although the match is a friendly, it presents both teams with an opportunity to fix their current league problems while potentially giving fringe players some much-needed game time.
Chiefs have been vocal about the importance of doing well in this match to be able to bring back the winning feeling in the team.
The absence of Siphiwe Tshabalala and Eric Matoho provides an opportunity for Steve Khompela to assess his other players available for those positions.
Celtic will also be looking to build up a winning momentum and will fancy their chances as they face a Chiefs side that is having a similar season to theirs as their Absa Premiership points tally depicts.
Here's how they line up:
