Teams: Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila v Chippa United
Date: 02 June 2021
Venue: Old Peter Mokaba Stadium
Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila will have a chance to secure their DStv Premiership status when they host Chippa United on Wednesday evening.
The match will kickstart at 17h00.
Tshakhuma have turned their season around in the latter stages of the campaign, after winning the Nedbank Cup last month by beating Chippa in the final and are now on the cusp of survival.
Vhadau Vha Damani's last outing was a goalless draw against Baroka two weeks ago which saw them remain in 13th spot on the table, four points ahead of the Chilli Boys, who are occupy the relegation play-off spot and their survival will be confirmed if they avoid defeat.
On the other hand, Chippa could still be smarting from the cup final defeat and will be more motivated fighting to stay in the Premiership for next season.
The Eastern Cape side won two back-to-back league games before the final but are winless in the last two after the final, following a 2-1 loss to Bloemfontein Celtic two weeks ago and are second-from-bottom on the log, two points shy of 14th-placed Stellenbosch.
The sides could not be separated in the first round meeting after playing to a 1-1 draw in November last year at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.
