Teams: Bloemfontein Celtic v Cape Town City
Date: 12 May 2021
Venue: Dr. Petrus Molemela Stadium
Cape Town City will be aiming to cement a spot in the top eight when they visit Bloemfontein Celtic on Wednesday afternoon.
The match will get underway at 15h00.
Celtic will be wary of being dragged into the relegation zone after their 2-2 draw with Kaizer Chiefs almost two weeks ago extended their winless run to five matches.
Siwelele are lying 11th on the log with 27 points, just three points clear of the relegation play-off spot held by Chippa United and cannot afford to drop more points.
On the other hand, the Citizens will be looking to consolidate their place in the top eight after back-to-back defeats to AmaZulu (5-1) and TS Galaxy (1-0) almost two weeks ago.
The two consecutive defeats came at a cost, as the Cape Town side put coach Jan Olde Riekerink on "administrative leave" and handed the coaching duties to assistant coach Diogo Peral.
City are in seventh place on the log with 36 points, four points clear of eighth-placed TS Galaxy and ninth-placed Baroka, both of whom are tied on points.
The Citizens were rampant against Celtic in the first round meeting as they thrashed them 4-2 in November last year at Cape Town Stadium and also hammered them 4-0 in the Nedbank Cup last 16.
